London College Counselor Tour · March 7-13, 2027 · Limited to 40 counselors
Spend a week exploring London’s university landscape with a curated group of fellow college counselors. Visit six universities, meet the people who work with students every day, and experience the campuses, neighborhoods, and city your students may one day call home. Come home with firsthand insight you can bring directly into conversations with students and families.
Hosted by The UK Study Expert
The 2027 London College Counselor Tour is planned to include visits to:
Each visit gives you the opportunity to experience the university in person, hear directly from university teams, and better understand the academic environment, student experience, location, and types of students who may thrive there. You’ll leave with a much more useful answer when a student asks, “What’s the difference between these London universities?”
From the outside, London’s universities can start to blend together. In person, the differences become much easier to understand.
A student considering Imperial is looking at a very different experience from one considering Kingston, Royal Holloway, or Escape Studios. Location, campus structure, academic focus, accommodation, transportation, and the feel of everyday student life can vary considerably.
The London Tour gives you firsthand context for those future conversations. You’ll walk the campuses, talk with university representatives, travel through the city, ask questions, and see what studying in London can look like beyond rankings and website copy. And you’ll experience it alongside counselors who are there to learn, exchange ideas, and enjoy London with you.
The week is centered around university visits and professional learning, with time outside the scheduled itinerary to experience London on your own.
Spend time at six London-area universities and learn what distinguishes each one academically, culturally, and as a place for US students to study.
Meet the people working within the universities, ask the questions that come up when advising US students, and make connections you can return to when future students need information.
Experience the neighborhoods, transportation, pace, and geography of the city for yourself, giving you more context for conversations with students considering London.
After the day’s scheduled programming, your evenings are your own. Explore a neighborhood, catch a West End show, have dinner with fellow counselors, or simply enjoy some downtime.
Spend the week alongside other counselors, comparing notes and building connections along the way.
After the tour, you’ll be better prepared to compare London universities based on more than rankings, talk about campuses and student environments from firsthand experience, and help a student decide whether London itself is the right fit, not because you’ve memorized every fact, but because you can say, “I’ve been there, and this is what I noticed.”
In 2026, The UK Study Expert partnered with HECA to bring college counselors to London for a week of university visits and professional learning.
Counselors visited Imperial College London, King’s College London, Goldsmiths, University of London, and Royal Holloway, University of London, with opportunities to experience the campuses, deepen their understanding of UK academic programs and admissions, and build connections with university representatives.

The 2027 itinerary will be different, but the goal remains the same: give counselors the opportunity to experience the universities and the city for themselves, ask better questions, and return home with insights they can bring into future conversations with students and families.
