Overview
Kingston University was established in 1899. Since then, we’ve welcomed students from the UK and across the world to our campus just a 30-minute train journey away from central London.
In the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF), 70% of the University’s research was rated world-leading or internationally excellent. Our research is transforming the lives of people around the world by responding to some of the biggest issues facing society.
In addition, we are ranked No.1 in London for fashion and textiles, geography, graphic design, children’s nursing, midwifery and social work, according to the 2025 Guardian University Guide.
The University is consistently ranked one of the top higher education institutions in the United Kingdom for graduate start-ups in the Higher Education Business and Community Interaction Survey.
Future Skills is our sector-leading model of education, designed to empower students to succeed in their life and career beyond university.
Through each year of their undergraduate degree, students develop the human-centric skills most valued by employers – from creative problem solving to empathy and digital competency – alongside their subject-specific learning.
These nine graduate attributes, identified through extensive research with business as part of our Future Skills campaign, are embedded as a core, assessed part of every course.
Students work directly with employers as part of our Future Skills approach, ensuring they are equipped to thrive in a rapidly-changing world driven by emerging technologies.
Whether you’re an undergraduate or postgraduate student, you’ll benefit from our growing network of UK and international businesses and organisations, who are partnering with Kingston University through Future Skills.
